‌"VR Liquid Nostalgia 5" is the re-creation of Liquid Nostalgia 5 by Tiffany Lee.
‌"Liquid Nostalgia 5" is from Tiffany Lee’s ‘Liquid Nostalgia’ series.
This series of work came up based on the Street View service provided by Google Maps. Showing the different views of the streets throughout the world,
it makes you feel like you are actually walking around the real world through the reconstructed photos.
However, these views of the streets do not reflect the current condition, since it is taken at some point in the past.
Therefore, this map service could be regarded as containing the term ‘Noema’ about photographs in that Roland Barthes commented, "It existed."
It lets us roam around the streets of the past. The artist feels some kind of nostalgia within these images. She decided to call 'Liquid Nostalgia', borrowing Zygmunt Bauman's expression.

This work, which re-manufactured actual space starting from image on real map, is suitable for virtual reality-based exhibition content.
‌It has increased immersion more by applying space-centered exhibition methodology, and manufactured the original work with VR exhibition content, based on the hypothesis to help understanding of work.
